I firmly believe that the United States should not be letting in Syrian refugees. After seeing the horrible attacks in Paris, America is at risk of a similar situation, as proved by the Islamic State video showing scenes of New York City. Thus, America needs to be protected and cautious now more than ever.
Although it is understood that not all Muslims are terrorists, many still believe that preventing refugees from entering our country is still stereotypical. However, this is truly the only way to have full-on security in the United States.
If only we could filter out the terrorists, but it is just not that simple and completely unrealistic.
Of course, the situation in Syria at the moment is sad, but is it really discriminating if we have the chance to protect the lives of our nation?
