I read recently that Earl K. Long Hospital is going to be demolished. With our state lacking available mental health beds, why don’t we invest $3 million or $4 million in remodeling Earl K. Long as a primary caregiver for the mentally ill in our state?

Also, what is going to be the fate of big Charity in New Orleans? It will be too expensive to tear down because of the asbestos. Has all of the equipment been removed from the hospital? Surely the equipment can be used by some hospital or nursing homes or at least sold for scrap.

Just more tax dollars going down the drain, I guess.
