Over the past few weeks I have been reading the news reports on CNN.com about veterans not receiving medical care in a timely manner. I must say the reports are very disturbing and disheartening. I myself am a veteran. I served in the Air Force in the early 1990s.

I depend on the VA medical clinics for medical care and I am having all kinds of trouble getting care.

My primary care doctor has changed at least 4-5 times in the last year due to doctors leaving the system. I call and leave voicemails for my doctor and never get return calls.

I have been experiencing severe migraines and seizures along with other neurological symptoms for more than TWO YEARS and still have no diagnosis because they refuse to do the proper test. I had a mammogram done over TWO MONTHS ago, on which they saw a suspicious area on my left breast, I was told. I needed to have a spot compression mammogram and ultrasound, and it still has not been scheduled at this date.

As far as I know I could have breast cancer, and nothing is being done.

The problems are not just happening at the major VA Medical Centers but also in the smaller clinics. I desperately need help. I am a mom of 4. My oldest is 21, and my youngest is 5. The 5-year-old is a special needs child who is going to need her mom around for a while. Please help us get our story heard.
