In response to the recent letter bemoaning the fact that Bill Cassidy voted to raise the Social Security retirement age to 70: Please be reminded that when FDR signed Social Security into law, the life expectancy was 63!

In addition, your writer fails to point out that any changes to Social Security are to be grandfathered in so that seniors about to retire would not be unfairly penalized. Get the facts straight!
