It’s hard for me to believe how common DWIs are. I understand that when drinking you are not thinking straight, but at the same time, you should know better as to have a designated driver. If one is to get so drunk that they think it is a good idea to drive home, how are we letting people get this drunk in the first place?

In the case of the man who killed the bicyclist, just like every other similar case, he did not intend to kill anyone, but at the same time, it shows his personal character. He was obviously not responsible enough to have a designated driver or call a cab. I feel no pity for him. Drinking and driving is never a mistake; it’s a result of poor character.
