Concerning an increase in the BREC board:

It seems to me that the simplest solution is to have a member of the East Baton Rouge Parish Recreation and Park Commission board from each Metro Council District.

This would give the general public an “in” to the board with someone who shares their concerns.

It also seems logical that any group that deals with such large amounts of tax monies should have more responsibility to those they represent.

This could also apply to the Library Board of Control and to the Planning and Zoning Commission (even though it does not deal directly with large amounts of money), since its decisions affect a large number of people.

This seems like a simple solution. Is there something I am missing?
