Congratulations are in order to our Republican members of Congress on achieving their Party’s decades-long goal of harming millions of average Americans while enriching the pockets of the very wealthy, their donors, pet special interest groups, corporations and their own. I am outraged and disgusted by the inveigling, obfuscating, cheating, mendacity and bribing that was used to pass the odious tax bill.

It amazes me how those who supported a bill that was found to be bad for the country by every nonpartisan organization that reviews such legislation — CBO, Tax Policy Center, JCT — can walk into a place of worship or sleep at night with what they have done to nonmillionaire constituents and to the deficit by passing the worst bill in U.S. history. That will be their legacy and the legacy of the Republican Party.
