A Louisiana Senate committee killed the legalization of “medical marijuana” the other day.

Big error, in my opinion.

Do bigwigs in our great state realize that in order for people to access the relatively mild and natural marijuana that they have to deal with crack/meth/heroin dealers? And that is surely a route to heavy, killing drugs.

I have never been a toker.

A possible five-year prison sentence for a second marijuana offense is illogical, destructive and costly.

Adults can make their own decision.

With killing and highly addictive drugs, it is surely good policy to outlaw and especially to make distribution painful. But hooch? Medical prescriptions? Louisiana sheriffs seem to “need a life.”
