On behalf of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation, I’d like to invite you to nominate someone for the 2016 Angel Award. Now in its 21st year, the Angel Award program recognizes Louisiana volunteers who perform extraordinary work for children in need. The foundation will also make a $20,000 grant to the Louisiana-based charity represented by each honoree.

Since 1995, we’ve recognized over 160 Angels in all walks of life — volunteers, retirees, high school students, nonprofit executives and everything in between. And I’m going to tell the biggest secret of the Angel Awards — it doesn’t matter whether someone has a big title or a long legacy. Angels are all around us, making a difference in the lives of children. Our program is about everyday people who are making an impact on Louisiana’s kids through hours of love, commitment and devotion.

If you know someone who is working hard to improve the lives of Louisiana’s children, please nominate them online at www.ourhomelouisiana.org by Friday, April 8. You can also get a nomination packet by calling (888) 219-BLUE (2583) or email Angel.Award@bcbsla.com.
