Those who proclaim that Common Core has only to do with educational standards and not with federal control of education are being misleading and untruthful, either intentionally or unintentionally.

The Advocate just reported that erstwhile state school board member Leslie Jacob declared that rejecting Common Core could result in “the state losing hundreds of millions of dollars in federal aid if the state is unable to come up with new ... exams that meet federal standard” and therefore we need to adopt the federally approved Common Core standards.

How clear can it be that Common Core is indeed about federal control of local education?
