Recently, Mr. Michael Sellen offered several reasons for the failure of Medicare and Social Security in the near future.

He emphasizes the large number of people who fake disabilities in order to collect Social Security checks each month. He also mentions the large number of people who have never contributed to the fund but still collect large amounts of money each month.

The one problem he neglected to mention is the falsified claims made by physicians and other health professionals, charging for visits to patients that were never made, overcharging and improper coding in order to make more money. Millions of dollars have been stolen by this method, and many doctors have gone to prison for fraud. But I wager that for every physician caught, there is at least one other who is getting away with it. Physician, cure thyself.
