Regarding recent objections to James Gill and his “liberal” perspective, I certainly welcome his views and opinions to Louisiana’s only daily newspaper of note.

Having lived in Baton Rouge, I only knew The Advocate as the Fox News of print journalism. Now that the Sometimes-Picayune has left us, The Advocate is the only source for journalism we have left.

Views from all perspectives should be welcomed and considered, for as we all know, the truth always lies somewhere in the middle. Gill, just like his polar opposite, James Varney, should continue to have their columns published and commented upon.

Only the simple and unintelligent try to silence the views of people they disagree with. I welcome and look forward to reading not only to the people I agree with but also with those I vehemently disagree with. This is what has always made American journalism exceptional.
