Letters: It’s time we supported the heroes we have like Saints quarterback Drew Brees _lowres

Advocate staff photo by SCOTT THRELKELD -- Saints quarterback Drew Brees looks for a receiver against the Cowboys on Sunday in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

I am a 69-year-old wife, mother, grandmaw and Saints fan…not the usual person to write about your coverage of sports.

But whose idea was it to take our hero and most famous person in our state (Drew Brees), who hasn’t been arrested or served time in jail (and show him in a) fetal position with a look on his face like a little boy who found himself in a real mess. They lost the game, but the whole team is “our” team. How do you think Brees felt as he left the field last night and over his corn flakes he has to see this photo this morning? Perhaps you could have found another photo.

I felt like you sorta kicked the man when he was down.

Noticed every photo in your paper of the rapist, Darren Sharper, was him looking all normal and dressed for success going into court. Guess if Drew Brees gets arrested for some trashy crime you will be there to get a photo of him all dressed up in his suit and tie.

In my grandmaw voice, “Shame on you!”

Heroes are getting hard to find. Let’s support the ones we have.
