Two down and one to go! The community has been absolutely magnificent in assisting with the 2014 Miss USA competition. I want to take this opportunity to thank our partners, including the staff at Visit Baton Rouge, the Louisiana Office of Tourism, the city of Baton Rouge, L’Auberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge, the Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board, Baton Rouge-area hotels and all of our industry partners who made this a fantastic opportunity to showcase Baton Rouge on the world stage.

I would like to send a big thank you to our local citizens for welcoming not only the Miss USA contestants, families, fans and crew but also the Bayou Country Superfest guests just two weeks prior. We are in the midst of one of our greatest summers to date, and we could not do it without our locals!

Next, we welcome the 2014 Region III Youth Soccer Tournament to Baton Rouge June 19-26. Nearly 200 teams and their families from 11 states will rendezvous in the Baton Rouge area for the festivities. Join us at Burbank Soccer Complex, located at 12400 Burbank Drive, to check out the action, and be on the lookout for hand-painted soccer balls at area restaurants. The Get a Kick Out of Art program is simple. Visit any of the participating venues and register to win one of these commemorative soccer balls. This tournament gives Baton Rouge an opportunity to once again roll out the red carpet for our visitors and highlight all that we have to offer!

Again, hats off to the city of Baton Rouge and #GoBR!
