For years, I have suffered silently when reading the one-minded musing of your columnist, Cal Thomas, with my morning coffee. Recently, a friend, Alice Comish, suggested a practical, light-hearted approach to enduring Mr. Thomas, in the following poem:
How to Discipline Cats
(A true story)
I disciplined cats in a most unusual way.
I read them a Cal Thomas doom and gloom essay
From the editorial section of the paper today.
They begged me to stop, but I didn’t sway.
Maybe they will be nicer when they play.
Please don’t report me to the SPCA!
We’ve tried Alice’s idea a few times. Our cats still don’t behave, but I usually feel better.
