In reply to Huel Perkins’ letter of Oct. 4, all the ills with our state that he lists are not the fault of Gov. Jindal but rest with the people themselves.

I have never understood why the president and the governor of a state are held liable for everything that is wrong. One person is not responsible for taking care of everyone and everything.

A great weakness with our country today is people depending too much on government and not making a greater effort themselves.
