Reply to Jan Moller and the film tax rebates given to “Duck Dynasty”:

Once again, someone singles out the film business as the bad guy for lost tax revenue. What they don’t acknowledge is how much money is generated by tourists coming to see the Duck Dynasty factory and purchasing merchandise that pays taxes into the state.

Is there a way to track that? What about the great-paying jobs that pay taxes in the state? And also, why don’t you “analyze” other industries that get tax incentives? The film business is an easy target because of its high visibility. You only have to go to the Louisiana economic development website to see all of the other incentives out there. Maybe we should look at the oil, agriculture, manufacturing industries and the breaks they get, too. The fact is, every business is offered some type of incentive. Stop picking on the “Hollywood” industry.
