I recently wrote a letter to the editor on fear – the fear that promotes us to go out and buy a gun. Here is a more important discussion on the subject:

President Franklin D. Roosevelt said in his first address to the nation in 1933: “We have nothing to fear except fear itself.”

These words stand as true today as they did 83 years ago. It was at the height of the Great Depression, Adolf Hitler was on the move, Japan occupied China, and the entire world was in turmoil.

So wake up, America. We are still the greatest country in the world, and at every level of society, we can do better.
