What a set of records for the Ragin’ Cajuns, but also a national landmark: The Louisiana-Lafayette football team capped its fourth consecutive nine-win season by winning its fourth consecutive New Orleans Bowl, the only four-time winner of the same bowl in four years.
The Cajuns ended 9-4, beating the University of Nevada 16-3 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in the R+L Carriers bowl game.
A strong defense, vital to playing an opponent from the tough Mountain West conference, helped propel the Cajuns to the win.
Warmest congratulations to coach Mark Hudspeth and his team. This is a fine ending to the season and a victory that is well-earned and much appreciated by the fans in Acadiana and across the state.
