It’s 5 p.m., traffic is backed up to Lobdell, and we are taking the old bridge on our way back from Lafayette.

It would seem like a very reasonable solution to proceed with the elimination and replacement of the Washington Street exit with a new Terrace Street exit.

This project initially would be under $3 million, but even if it’s $5 million, that’s still worth it. It is a drop in the bucket for the economy of Baton Rouge.

With highway safety funds, this project could probably be completed in seven months.
