Col. Mike Edmonson of Louisiana State Police has made a sensible call on photograph rules for drivers’ licenses.
After a transgender woman said she was denied a license because she didn’t look male, the colonel — who oversees the Office of Motor Vehicles — said OMV would take photographs of people the way they normally look.
That won’t change gender identification on the license.
For his next act in defusing controversy, we urge Edmonson to find a way for license photographs to make all of us look better. We don’t know anybody who actually likes their picture.
