Former LSU star Shaquille O'Neal knows his way around Louisana. Alabama native and Auburn alum Charles Barkley? Not so much.

Shaq, who made an appearance at LSU's game on Saturday against Arkansas, put together a quiz for Barkley to test his knowledge of Louisiana ahead of the NBA All-Star game in New Orleans. Barkley, on the set of 'Inside the NBA' did not do well.

Things Charles Barkley doesn't know about Louisiana:

  • What a parish is
  • He thinks Fat Tuesday is at the beginning of Mardi Gras, and definitely isn't on a Tuesday
  • Whether LSU is still in the SEC (or in Louisiana, it seems)
  • Malik State? We think he means McNeese

The crew is headed for New Orleans this week as part of the NBA All-Star Game weekend.

After the quiz ended the crew mentioned a 3-point shot made by O'Neal during his LSU appearance.

"The good thing is if you'd have missed and it had gone into the stands it wouldn't have hurt anybody," Barkley said. "There wasn't nobody there."

Kenny Smith decided to pile on.

"That was the first three made all night," Smith said.

LSU basketball is mired in a 12-game losing streak and a lost season, but they did hit four 3-pointers despite the loss to Arkansas (5 if you count Shaq's).

NBA All-Star weekend begins on Friday in New Orleans, with the All-Star game slated for Sunday at 7 p.m.
