AT A GLANCE

A July commitment to the Tigers, Stewart passed on local offers from Pittsburgh and West Virginia, choosing the Tigers partly because of his relationship with offensive line coach Jeff Grimes, his primary recruiter. A one-time Marshall commit, he flipped his pledge after attending LSU’s camp over the summer and receiving an offer.

HONORS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

He was selected to the Class AAA all-state first team as a junior. … He helped Point Pleasant to a 12-1 record and to the playoff semifinals. His team averaged 56.2 points per game.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

“Run-blocking is his strength,” Point Pleasant coach David Darst told West Virginia MetroNews before Stewart’s junior season “He just gets his hands on you and does a great job. He’s made a big improvement in his pass protection, and that’s something that young kids have to work on all of the time. The sky is the limit for him, really.”
