Two new LSU players landed on college football award watch lists Friday, increasing the program’s total to a whopping eight players on preseason lists.

Defensive tackles-turned-ends Davon Godchaux and Lewis Neal landed on the Nagurski Trophy watch list, given to college football’s best defensive player. Godchaux also was named to the Outland Trophy watch list, given to the nation’s best interior lineman.

Joining the pair for the Nagurski Trophy was linebacker Kendell Beckwith, safety Jamal Adams and defensive back Tre’Davious White. Center Ethan Pocic landed on the Outland Trophy list, too, the senior’s second watch list.

Pocic landed on the Rimington Award watch list. That award is given to the nation’s best center. Adams was also named to the 2016 Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list. It goes to the student-athlete who exhibits the characteristics displayed by Ronnie Lott during his legendary college and professional careers.

Beckwith, White and Adams were named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list earlier this month. It’s another defensive player of the year award. Kicker Trent Domingue landed on the Lou Groza watch list earlier this week, and running back Leonard Fournette was on the Maxwell Award watch list.
