LSU will start the 2015 season inside the top 15 of the Associated Press Top 25.
The Tigers are ranked 14th in the preseason AP poll released on Sunday, joining seven other Southeastern Conference squads in the rankings.
Ohio State is the nation’s No. 1 team in the poll and TCU, Alabama, Baylor and Michigan State round out the top five. Auburn is No. 6, as the next highest-ranked SEC team, followed by No. 9 Georgia, LSU, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 24 Missouri and No. Tennessee.

LSU was ranked No. 13 in the USA Today/coaches preseason poll released three weeks ago.
LSU finished last season unranked in the AP and USA Today/coaches poll for the first time since 2008, as the Tigers slid to an 8-5 finish, capped with a 31-28 loss to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl.
LSU opens the season Sept. 5 against McNeese State before a critical two-game stretch at Mississippi State and against Auburn.
The Tigers completed the camp portion of preseason practice on Wednesday and had their second scrimmage of the preseason on Saturday. The fight at quarterback between Brandon Harris and Anthony Jennings has garnered much of the spotlight this preseason, and it’s clear that Harris has surged into the lead.
Freshman offensive lineman Maea Teuhema is challenging for a starting guard spot, and rookie defensive end Arden Key is pushing for a starting role as well.
Meanwhile, the Tigers lost starting safety Jalen Mills for at least the first two games with an ankle injury – the only known significant injury to emerge from camp.
