After firing 6.2 innings of one-hit baseball in Saturday’s 4-0 win against Cincinnati, LSU sophomore Alex Lange was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Alex Lange pitched LSU to a series win on Saturday. The Tigers go for the sweep on Sunday.

Alex Lange was named SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday after his 6.2 inning, one-hit performance on Saturday.

It is the first such honor for Lange, who was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times last season, when he finished 12-0 with a 1.97 ERA.

Lange effectively used his breaking ball to strike out nine Bearcat hitters while scattering just one hit — a first inning single he erased on a pickoff moments later. He threw 5.2 innings of no-hit ball after the first inning, picking up the first win of his sophomore season.
