TUCSON, Ariz. — The LSU Lady Tigers are the NCAA’s new No. 1 team in the women’s 4x100-meter relay for the 2015 season after slashing their seasonal best by more than one full second victory Saturday at the 2015 Jim Click Shootout at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.

LSU won the relay in 43.23 seconds, beating its previous season best of 44.46.

LSU’s track and field teams combined for one school record, 18 personal bests and 10 NCAA Top 10s for the season.

Men’s basketball

Simmons helps lead World Team: In Portland, Oregon, SU men’s basketball signee Ben Simmons helped the World Team beat the USA for the third time in four years Saturday in the annual NIKE Hoop Summit.

Simmons scored 13 points and had eight rebounds and eight assists as the World Team bet the USA Men’s Junior National Select team 103-101/

Men’s tennis

LSU at Mississippi State: The LSU men’s tennis team will travel to Starkville, Mississippi, at 10 a.m. Sunday to face Mississippi State in their final regular-season match at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.

The Bulldogs are 17-6, 8-3 in the Southeastern Conference. LSU is 16-6, 6-5.

A win would give the Tigers their first 17-win season since 2007.

“This is another great match up with both teams looking to bounce back from the last time out,” LSU coach Jeff Brown said. “We both have had a good year, and it should be a high-level contest.”

LSU’s Jordan Daigle and Boris Arias are ranked No. 23 in doubles.

For Mississippi State, Florian Lakat and Julian Cash are ranked No. 15 in doubles.

Women’s tennis

Vanderbilt at LSU: LSU (17-8, 7-5) wraps up the regular season against eight-ranked Vanderbilt (15-6, 10-2) at 10 a.m. Sunday at W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.

The match against the Commodores is the final home match for seniors Noel Scott and Mary Jeremiah as well as the final match ever at the “Dub.”

The Commodores are led by Sydney Campbell, who is ranked seventh in the country in singles.

LSU is led by Joana Vale Costa, Skylar Kuykendall and Abby Owens on the top three courts. Vale Costa is 35th in singles.

Vale Costa is 13-7 and 7-4 in SEC play.

Kuykendall leads the nation in wins at 22 and is on an 11-match winning streak.
