Will Clapp and Tre’Davious White returned to LSU spring football practice on Tuesday, and coach Les Miles incited an outburst when he pitted two walk-on players against each other in the team’s collision drill, Big Cat.

Clapp is suffering from a sports hernia, Miles said Saturday, and he’s unlikely to play in the spring game, the coach said then. However, he practiced Tuesday in full uniform and pads. White twisted his ankle last week.

Other news nuggets and videos from practice are below, including a Big Cat drill between a pair of walk-ons.

  • Absent:Fullback-turned-receiver Tony Upchurch was absent from practice Tuesday. It’s unclear why. Upchurch has now missed several practices in a row. Dwayne Thomas, who has a class conflict, missed practice as well.

  • Limited: OLB Tashawn Bower remains in a gold non-contact jersey after injuring his right knee last week at practice, he said last week. Bower’s right knee was wrapped on Tuesday, but he participated in most, if not all, drills. DE Lewis Neal was out of his gold non-contact jersey.
