WHAT TO WATCH: Bouman has a real opportunity here to show coach Paul Mainieri that he’s good enough to work back into a starting weekend gig. He sprained his ankle more than a month ago, missed a few weeks while recovering and then laid the egg against Arkansas, allowing a first-inning grand slam. He did not pitch at Ole Miss.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT: Mapes is Tulane’s No. 1 pitcher. He has struck out 40 and walked eight and allowed 46 hits in 50.1 innings pitched. Tulane has had a rough go at it since the win over LSU. Tulane is 2-11 since.

IN THE HOLE: Tennessee at LSU, 7 p.m. Friday, Alex Box.
