LSU has returned to the top 25.

The Tigers, No. 23 in The Associated Press Top 25 and No. 24 in the new coaches poll released Sunday, finish the regular season ranked for the sixth straight season and the ninth time in coach Les Miles’ 10 years.

Another poll will be released next Sunday following the end of the regular season and conference championship, with the final polls released after the CFP National Championship Game on Jan. 12.

LSU beat Texas A&M 23-17 on Thanksgiving Night to finish the year 8-4 and 4-4 in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers finished fifth in the SEC West, the program’s lowest finish since 2002.

LSU will know its bowl destination next Sunday. The most likely destinations include the Advocare Texas Bowl in Houston, the Taxslayer Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee.

LSU has finished in the top 25 in eight of coach Les Miles’ 10 years.
