The LSU women’s basketball team added a player in the spring signing period when guard Shanice Norton signed her National Letter of Intent, the school announced Friday.

Norton is a 5-foot-8 native of London who spent the past two seasons at the Potter’s House Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. She played AAU basketball for the Jacksonville Lady Rams. She represented England on the Under-16 team in the FIBA European Championships in 2012 and ’13 and has been selected to play for the U-18 team in this year’s European Championships.

“She’s an exceptional person with a great work ethic,” coach Nikki Caldwell said in a news release. “We are extremely excited about the impact she will have on the court as a very explosive guard who can score and defend.”

LSU earlier signed Ayanna Mitchell, a four-star forward from Conyers, Georgia, considered a top-100 player by HoopGurlz.
