TULSA, Okla. - LSU senior Neal Skupski was defeated by No. 8-ranked Evan King of Michigan on Thursday, ending his run at the ITA All-American Championships.
After losing in straight sets to USC all-star Daniel Nguyen in the singles main draw, Skupski faced No. 8 King in the consolation round, where he lost, 7-5, 6-1.
“Neal did not play his best match today,” LSU assistant coach Danny Bryan said in a university release. “We look at this tournament as a great learning experience and hope to go back to Baton Rouge, improve on a couple of things and get ready for our next tournament.”
Next up for the Tigers is the ITA Southern Regional set to begin on Oct. 20.
