Will LSU have a Top 10 team going into the 2017 football season? At least three "way too early" preseason polls don't think so.

Media outlets wasted no time speculating about 2017 after Clemson's 35-31 victory over Alabama on Monday night to claim the 2016 season title.

USA Today puts LSU at No. 11 for 2017, citing the Tigers' impressive bowl win over Louisville as early validation of Ed Orgeron.

That's second among SEC teams, trailing only Alabama (ranked No. 2 by USA Today). Florida State is ranked No. 1 and Ohio State is at No. 3. Defending champions Clemson is No. 9.

LSU finished the 2016 season at No. 13 in the final Associated Press poll.

Fox Sports places LSU at No. 14 in 2017. That's 4th among SEC teams, behind Alabama (No. 1), Auburn (No. 10) and Georgia (No. 13).

Writer Stewart Mandel sees lots of upside for the Tigers: "Ed Orgeron’s team finished the season with blowout wins over Texas A&M and Louisville," he writes. "RB Derrius Guice emerged as a 2017 Heisman candidate. Standout pass-rusher Arden Key returns for what should be another stingy defense even without NFL-bound S Jamal Adams."

After Alabama, rounding out Fox Sports' Top 3 are Ohio State and Clemson.

ESPN sees LSU as the No. 15 team in 2017. That's 4th among SEC teams, behind Alabama (No. 1), Auburn (No. 11.) and Georgia (No. 13).

After Alabama, rounding out ESPN's Top 3 are Florida State and Southern California. Defending champion Clemson is picked No. 5.
