As Les Miles enjoyed LSU’s top five 2016 recruiting class on Wednesday, he took time out in a CBS Sports interview to explain one of his most-cited quirks: Eating grass.
Addressing football analyst Brady Quinn, Miles said he, of all people, “would understand a quality blade of grass,” referring to the natural turf at Notre Dame, where Quinn played college ball.
“Maybe so, Coach,” Quinn laughingly responds. “I’ll leave that one to you. I haven’t tasted any. So I wouldn’t know.”
“You must have never played right field,” Miles said. “That was the dubious distinction I had. Nobody hit the ball out there, and you needed something to do.”
