LSU quarterback Danny Etling was named the Southeastern Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Etling, the Tigers' starter for the last two seasons, graduated in mass communications in May with a 3.72 grade point average, according to a statement from the SEC office.
Etling, an Indiana native who transferred in 2015 from Purdue, was elected Vice Chair of the SEC Football Leadership Council and is a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree. Etling has thrown for 2,234 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.
LSU’s football coaching staff will make a combined $115,000 in bowl bonuses, and several athletic administrators received raises this fall.
