Despite a thrilling, 35-28 win against No. 11 Florida, LSU remained at No. 5 in this week’s USA Today / coaches poll. The Tigers, however, picked up one first-place vote for their efforts.

The Gators fell to No. 14 following the loss in Tiger Stadium.

LSU is now the only undefeated team in the Southeastern Conference at 6-0, 4-0. The Tigers’ next opponent, Western Kentucky, received five votes in the coaches’ poll.

Ole Miss tumbled 11 spots to No. 23 after being upset by undefeated Memphis, which climbed to No. 17 this week.

Alabama, which will host LSU on Nov. 7 in a game that could determine the SEC West race, moved up one spot to No. 8 after knocking off previously undefeated and 10th-ranked Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
