LSU remained 19th in the USA Today coaches poll after its season-opening victory over McNeese State, but the Tigers dropped two spots to No. 23 in The Associated Press rankings released Monday.
LSU is one of only three Southeastern Conference teams to be found in the polls, joining Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Kentucky (2-0) is second and Vanderbilt (1-0) comes in at No. 17 in both polls. North Carolina sits atop both the coaches and media rankings.
