PITTSBURGH — Former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson has signed a contract to play with the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League, the club announced.
Jefferson, who played for LSU from 2008-11, signed a free-agent contract with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year but was later waved. He also signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League last year.
“I am extremely pleased with the recruiting and retention efforts of our football staff this offseason,” Pittsburgh General Manager Michael Gorham said. “I feel confident that the addition of stars like Jordan Jefferson and recently signed Alvin Ray Jackson, to current keystone players like (center Beau) Elliott, Mike Washington, and Dominie Pittman, the Power will be a formidable force in 2013.”
Pittsburgh plays at the New Orleans VooDoo on April 19.
