LSU will play Louisville in the Citrus Bowl at 10 a.m. New Year's Eve. Here's more about the game and the Tigers' bowl history:

Citrus Bowl

When: 10 a.m. CST Dec. 31

Where: Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Fla.

TV: ABC

Sponsor: Buffalo Wild Wings

Payout: $4.25 million

Old age: The Citrus Bowl is the seventh-oldest bowl game. It began as the Tangerine Bowl in 1947.

Support funds: The first game sponsors, members of Elks Lodge of Orlando, each put up $100 to fund initial expenses.

Title winner: Georgia Tech remains the only national champion to participate in the Citrus Bowl. The Yellow Jackets' 45-21 win over Nebraska on Jan. 1, 1991, catapulted them to the coaches' poll championship with a final record of 11-0-1.

Former names: Tangerine Bowl (1947-82), Florida Citrus Bowl (1983-93), CompUSA Florida Citrus Bowl (1994-99), Ourhouse.com Florida Citrus Bowl (2000), Capital One Florida Citrus Bowl (2001-02), Capital One Bowl (2003-14)

U-T: During the 1990s, the second-place finisher in the SEC normally went to this bowl. Tennessee participated in the bowl three of four years at one point, prompting Florida coach Steve Spurrier to quip, "You can't spell 'Citrus' without U-T!"

Bowl gifts: The NCAA allows bowls to distribute gifts to players from each participating team. The Citrus Bowl gifts include a $305 Best Buy shopping trip, a Timely Watch watch, an EA Sports video game, ISlide sandals and a $25 Buffalo Wild Wings gift card.

Familiar squads: Florida and Georgia have played in the Citrus Bowl more than any other teams. Each has participated in the bowl six times.
