LSU led all schools with 40 former Tigers on NFL Kickoff Weekend rosters, according to numbers compiled by the league and released Wednesday.

It’s the second year in a row LSU had the most players on active rosters for Week 1. Last season, LSU had 38 players on the opening-game rosters of the 32 NFL teams.

LSU was followed this season by Miami (37), Southern Cal (35), Alabama and Georgia (34 each), Florida and Florida State (31 each), Oklahoma (30), Notre Dame (29) and Clemson (28).

When broken down by position, LSU also had the most defensive backs (10) and most defensive tackles (seven) of all schools.

A total of 251 colleges were represented on Kickoff Weekend rosters.
