The Detroit Lions were working out LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger, fullback J.C. Copeland and receiver Kadron Boone on Saturday, according to a report from The National Football Post's Aaron Wilson.
Mettenberger, a senior, told The Advocate at LSU's Pro Day on Wednesday he was working out and meeting with the Lions and other teams in the coming days. He's drawn third-round projections after passing for 5,783 yards, 35 touchdowns and 62.2 percent completion rate in his college career, which ended with a torn anterior cruciate ligament he's been rehabbing from.
Copeland, a senior, could be taken in the fifth or sixth round of the draft. The short-yardage specialist had 36 carries for 92 yards and seven touchdowns in his career with the Tigers.
Boone, a senior, had 44 grabs for 611 yards and eight touchdowns for LSU. It is not expected he will be drafted.
All three worked out at LSU's pro day on Wednesday.
