Receiver Jazz Ferguson will transfer, he announced in a tweet Thursday.
Ferguson, a sophomore from St. Francisville, played in the first seven games this season and started at Auburn before being suspended. Reasons for his suspension were never announced.
Ferguson told The Advocate on Thursday that he would be OK with sitting out next year and transferring to a Football Bowl Subdivision program.
He finished his LSU career with two catches for 17 yards, both of which came in his first start against Auburn on Oct. 1. He served primarily as blocker when he entered games, but he had swiftly moved up the depth chart after playing lightly as a freshman. The 6-foot-5, 233-pound wideout played in two games last season and did not record any statistics.
Ferguson becomes the fifth wideout to transfer from LSU in the last year, joining Tyron Johnson (Oklahoma State), John Diarse (TCU), Kevin Spears (Jacksonville State) and Trey Quinn (SMU).
He's the second player to transfer since the season ended, joining offensive tackle Chidi Okeke, who announced his departure earlier this week.
Christian LaCouture is coming back.
