The LSU Athletic Council Working Committee for Effective Accommodation invites LSU students to express interest in recreational, club, and potential varsity sports by attending an open meeting at 3:30 p.m. next Wednesday in the Lawton Room in Tiger Stadium.

Interested groups and/or individuals will be asked to make a brief presentation to members of the committee accompanied by any supporting documentation. The committee will take information under advisement in their efforts to ensure the university’s compliance with Title IX.

No appointment is needed, but in order to communicate presentation needs and have an organized afternoon schedule, participants are asked to contact Miriam Segar, Sr. Associate Athletics Director: or 225-578-5785.

Individuals who do not RSVP will present at the end of the afternoon following the scheduled participants.


Tigers visit Arkansas: LSU will be battling for position in the Southeastern Conference while looking to strengthen its NCAA tournament résumé at 6 p.m. Thursday as they travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to face Arkansas.

The match will be televised by the SEC Network.

The Tigers (8-4-3, 2-4-1 SEC) and Arkansas (5-8-1, 1-5-1) are looking to bounce back from a pair of one-goal road defeats on Sunday when the Tigers dropped a 2-1 decision at 12th-ranked Florida and the Razorbacks lost 1-0 to Vanderbilt.

The Tigers have an 11-game unbeaten run against the Razorbacks with a 10-0-1 mark in the series dating to the 2004 season.
