Instead of cheering for crimson and white or orange and blue, Mountain Brook, Alabama teen Sid Ortis lights up for purple and gold.

Friday, LSU coach Les Miles gave Ortis another reason to smile, calling him after he returned from the hospital from his second lung surgery, according to an report. In August 2014 Ortis was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a cancerous bone tumor common in teenagers.

Miles and the 15-year-old chatted about football, life and prayed together. Miles also invited Ortis and his family to watch a game in Tiger Stadium next season in Miles' family box.

Sid Ortis' mother Lyn Ortis said Miles and Sid Ortis chatted like they were old pals.

"He told him, 'Life is not how long you live, but how well you live it,''' Lynn Ortis said.
