LSU, No. 6 seed, defeated No. 3 Penn State 71-66 in a second-round NCAA women's basketball tournament game at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

LSU (22-11) advances to the Sweet 16.

Adrienne Webb, in her final home game, scored a game-high 29 points.

Webb hit a 3-pointer to give LSU a 63-62 lead with 3:04 remaining.

But Penn State (26-6) came back to take a 66-65 lead when Ariel Edwards hit a jump shot with 54 seconds left.

Bianca Lutley hit a jump shot to give LSU a 67-66 lead with 40 seconds remaining and the Tigers never trailed again.

Penn State rallied from an eight-point deficit to take a 42-35 lead at halftime. The Nittany Lions finished the half on a 26-11 run.
