LSU lost an offensive tackle over the weekend with Willie Allen transferring.

They landed a verbal commitment from one on Wednesday.

East Ascension High tackle Cameron Wire pledged to the Tigers in a message he posted on Twitter

Wire is the 40th-ranked tackle in the 2017 class and the 23rd-best player in the state, according to 247Sports.com's composite rankings. The 6-foot-6 270-pounder from Gonzales chose to stay home, rebuffing more than 30 other offers including those from Alabama and Auburn.

He's the 17th member of LSU's 2018 signing class and the third offensive linemen in a group ranked in the top 5 nationally.
