COLUMBIA, Mo. — Looking to even the series Sunday in Game 2, the No. 3 LSU softball team fell in a big hole early and was unable to make a game of it in falling 10-2 to No. 15 Missouri in five innings.

Bianka Bell hit her 14th home run of the season in the third inning for LSU (41-8, 13-7 Southeastern Conference).

Emily Griggs and Sandra Simmons had LSU’s other two hits, and Bailey Landry had an RBI.

Allie Walljasper (12-3) took the loss, allowing seven runs, four earned, on five hits with two walks in 2.2 innings.

LSU was also hurt by three errors.

Tori Finucane (18-6) earned the win for Missouri (35-10, 13-7), allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits with five walks and five strikeouts in seven innings.

Kirsten Mack’s two-run homer highlighted a four-run first inning for Missouri.

The host Tigers added three runs in the third and another three in the fourth to put the game away.

Emily Crane went 2-for-3 and scored two runs for Missouri. Amanda Sanchez also drove in two runs.

LSU and Missouri will close out the series at 6 p.m. Monday.

The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
