After losing three seniors plus junior McKenna Kelley to a preseason injury, the LSU gymnastics team needed senior Myia Hambrick to perform in a big way this season.

So far, she's definitely done her bit for the Tigers.

Hambrick won the all-around competition  Friday at Florida with a score of 39.550, leading LSU to a 197.250-197.125 victory over the Gators that puts the Tigers in command early in the race for the Southeastern Conference regular-season championship.

Hambrick was recognized as the SEC gymnast of the week by the conference office Tuesday.

At Florida, Hambrick matched her career high with a 9.95 on floor. She also recorded 9.90s on beam and vault and recorded a 9.80 on the uneven bars.

Hambrick leads the Tigers (2-0, 2-0 SEC) this Friday as they return home to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to take on No. 9-ranked Alabama (1-1, 1-0 SEC). The meet begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on the SEC Network.

Alabama senior Kiana Winston was named SEC specialist of the week. Sarah Shaffer of Arkansas and Ella Warren of Kentucky were named SEC co-freshmen of the week.
