LSU sprinter/hurdler Mikiah Brisco, who was named to the preseason Bowerman Award watch list last month, has retained her spot on the 10-person indoor midseason list.

Brisco was one of six women who made the preseason watch list to appear on the first regular-season list that was released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

A Baton Rouge native, Brisco is coming off a big performance at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic where she set a school record in the 60 meters with an altitude-adjusted time of 7.10 seconds.

That broke the old mark of 7.13 seconds set by Kelly-Ann Baptiste in 2008.

Brisco's time of 7.07 seconds was just off the record of 7.08 set by Oregon's Hannah Cunliffe, which was also run at altitude.

In addition to leading the NCAA in the 60 meters, Brisco is ranked No. 8 in the nation in the 60-meter hurdles with a season's-best time of 8.14 seconds.
