Scouting report

The Bulldogs haven’t won in Tiger Stadium since 1991. But given their offensive prowess and LSU’s youth, this could be their best chance in, well, decades. State’s offense runs through Haughton native Dak Prescott at quarterback. Saturday in a 35-3 win at South Alabama, Prescott threw for 201 yards and a touchdown, rushed for 139 yards and a TD and even caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Jameon Lewis. Defensively, the Bulldogs have been up and down, shutting out Southern Miss and keeping South Alabama out of the end zone, but allowing 34 points to UAB. South Alabama had 22 first downs and 345 total yards, but the Bulldogs forced four turnovers.
